Beneficiary Information
Lottery Profits Education Fund (LPEF) – Helps fund elementary,
secondary, vocational, and special education programs as determined in
appropriations made by the General Assembly
Retailer Bonus Structure
Ohio Lottery retailers receive 5.5% on
every sale and up to an additional 1.5% based on how many winning
tickets they cash. In Ohio, the bonus for selling a jackpot-winning
ticket for Mega Millions is $1,000 per million, based upon the jackpot
amount won in Ohio. If more than one Ohio retailer sells a
jackpot-winning ticket, the bonus is split equally. Minimum retailer
bonus is $10,000; maximum bonus is $100,000. Ohio retailers selling a
$250,000, second-tier winner receive a $1,000 bonus.
